Initially brought into F1 by Frank Williams, after a year he moved the then struggling Benetton team. Jenson had more success when Renault took control in 2002 before he moved to BAR in 2003. A third place in the drivers championship in 2004 has been his best year so far, although his first race win did not come until the middle of the 2006 season. He finally became world champion in 2007, winning it by 1 point in the final race of the season. By Raikkonen's high standards he had a lack lustre 2008 season, although finally finishing 3rd in the Drivers championship. The 2009 Ferrari car was was far from being competitive and Raikkonen had a difficult season, finishing sixth in the drivers championship. Having lost his seat at Ferrari for 2010, he moved to a drive in a Citroen World Rally car. He returns to F1 for 2012 season driving for Lotus.
