The 1981 season saw the banning of the sliding skirts of ground effect cars, however as is typical of F1 teams, Brabham came up with way round this. Nelson Piquet took his Brabham to the drivers championship, whilst Reuteman and Jones gave Williams their second successive constructors championship.
