The 1987 season was a good one for Williams as they won the Constructors championship with Nelson Piquet and Nigel Mansell taking first and second in the drivers championship. This season saw the final Austrian GP at the Osterreichring. Changes to the regulations gave teams a choice of the turbo engines or the new 3.5 litre normally aspirated engines that would become the standard from 1989.
