Scoring system
With the increase in the numbe of teams in the championship, points will be scored by the top 10 finishers in a race. In an attempt to increase the importance of race wins the gap in points between first and second has enn increased. The new scoring system is: 1st 25; 2nd 18; 3rd 15; 4th 12; 5th 10; 6th 8; 7th 6; 8th 4; 9th 2 and 10th 1 point.
Pit Stops
For 2010 there will be no refueling during the race, though there will still be pit stops for tyre changes, as the requirement to use both types of tyre during the race remains.
Engines
Engines are restricted to 8 per driver during the season and gearboxes need to last 4 races. All the new teams to F1 this year will be running Ford Cosworth engines.
Tyres
Cars competing in the thrid part of qualifiying will have to start the race on the same set of tyres. the front tyres are slightly narrower than last season.
