Sporting regulations
The rule introduced in 2002 that effectively banned team orders has been removed, but with the warning of "any act prejudicial to the interests of any competition" will still be punished. Many teams felt that this rule was unenforceable and bringing the sport into disrepute.

Aerodynamics
The "F-ducts" introduced in 2010 will be banned. However in an attempt to increase overtaking "driver-adjustable bodywork" will be introduced. This will allow drivers to adjust the rear wing when they are within one second of the car they are trying to overtake.

Qualifying
The 107% rule is being re-introduced. Cars must set a qualifying time within 107% of the fastest time to compete in the race.

Tyres
Pirelli have been given a three year contract to supply tyres from the 2011 season. The tyres produced for 2011 are designed to have a higher degredation that those from 2010, mmeaning that most races will some more pit stops, with 3 stops for most cars in most races.

Mechanical
The teams have a agreed to the re-introduction of KERS systems that use energy collected during braking to give a power boost. Gear boxes are to last five races instead of four races.

Future changes
The change to the 2011 regulations also introduce significant changes to engines for the 2013 season. This will replace the current 2.4 litre V8 engines with 1.6 litre turbocharged engines with fuel restrictions The power output should remains at around 750bhp, but delivered at a maximum of 12000rpm rather than 18000rpm.
