Algarve International Circuit, Portugal circuit details

The Portuguese Grand Prix has been held at Boavista, Monsanto and Estoril over the years and after a break it was held in Portimao for the 2020 and 2021 seasons. The circuit was completed in 2008 and since 2010 has been used as pre-season testing circuit.

2021

Race winner: Lewis Hamilton Mercedes
Lewis Hamilton won the race after overtaking both Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas, his two main rivals who finished second and third. Kimi Raikkonen retired after running into the back of his team mate. Both Verstappen and Bottas had late pit stops to try for the extra point for fasted lap, which went to Bottas after Verstappen's time was deleted for exceeding track limits.

2020

Race winner: Lewis Hamilton Mercedes
F1 returned to Portugal and a long gap to this circuit that had been used for testing. The qualifying was disrupted by problems with the drain covers. After the first set of pit stops, Lewis Hamilton took a comfortable win ahead of team mate Valtteri Bottas and Max Verstappen.
