Aston Martin will be hoping to improve on a mixed 2025 season. THe senior management are now in place though how it is unclear how much impact Adrian Newey has had on the 2026 car. After Honda pulled out of F1, closed its engine division and then decided to re=enter and so restart engine development it is not clear how competitive the Honda engine will be, which could potentially limit the success of Aston Martin in 2026.

Alpine had a very poor 2025 season being fairly consistently the slowest cars on the grid. Without a significant improvement in performance there is a potential for the patience of Renault management to run out and they will pull out as they have done from being a engine manufacturer.

Cadillac is the new team for 2026 and is being backed by the American car company GM. They will be running the Ferrari cutomer engine ahead of them developing their engine. Sergio Perez and Valtteri Botttas have been brought in as experienced F1 drivers, but the team is playing down expectations and is expecting to be at the back of the grid for its first season.
