Fernando Alonso career
After a disappointing 2014 at Ferrari, Fernando Alonso moved back to McLaren for 2015. His previous year at McLaren ended acrimoniously and his final seasons with them were difficult as the car was not competitive. Fernando Alonso was the third youngest driver in F1 when he started with Minardi in 2001. After a move to Renault as test driver in 2002, he progressed to race driver and won back to back championships in 2005 and 2006. In 2007 he moved to McLaren but his increasingly acrimonious relationship with Lewis Hamilton led him back to Renault for 2008. The 2008 Renault was not fast, but Alonso did win the first night race in Singapore and followed this with a second win in Japan and finally finished 5th. The 2009 Renault was not much of an improvement with only one podium finish during the season. In 2010 Alonso moved to Ferrari in the hope of getting a drive in championship contending car. He started the season in style by winning the first race, although it was not until race 11 in Germany until he won again (albeit in controversial style when the team told Massa to let Alonso win). Fernando Alonso had a disappointing final season with Ferrari in 2014 finishing only 6th in the drivers championship and Ferrari finishing fourth in the constructors championship. His 4 seasons with McLaren were a struggle as the car was not that competitive. After a couple of years out of F1 which included winning the Le Mans 24 hour race he returned to F1 in 2021 with Alpine and then moved to Aston Martin for 2023. Website
