1951 F1 Championship

The 1951 World Championship saw Juan Manuel Fangio drive his Alfa Romeo to the first of his five championship titles. Juan Manuel Fangio won the first race of the season in which Sterling Moss made his Formula 1 debut in HWM. The race at Silverstone saw Ferrari take their first race win and was also the debut of the BRM team driven by Reg Parnell. The Ferrari cars became stronger as the season progressed. Alfa Romeo withdrew at the end of the season for financial reasons and their engines became less competitive than the Ferrari engines. The season was run over seven races with the race in Monaco missing.
