Jaguar was formed when Ford bought out the Stewart team from Jackie Stewart. It became in effect the Ford works team. Success did not come, with only 2 podium finishes in 5 seasons of racing. As part of a cost cutting measure, Ford pulled out of F1 and put the team up for sale. The team was bought after the end of the 2004 season and became Red Bull Racing.
