Virgin were a new British team for the 2010 season with Nick Writh (ex Simtek and Benetton) as Technical Director who were powered by Cosworth engines, sponsored by Virgin and a rename of Manor racing. After two seasons struggling at the back of grid the Russian company Marussia Motors bought a controlling interest in the team and entered the team as Marussia for 2012.
