Alan Jones is an Australian driver who had a mixed start to F1 career, which improved after he moved to Williams in 1978. Driving the Patrick Head designed FW07 ground effect car he was thrid iin the drivers championship in 1979. This car was refined for the 1980 season and gave Alan Jones his drivers world championship and Williams their first constructors championship.
