Arrows team history

The Arrows team was formed as a breakaway from the Shadow team and despite some early innovative designs failed to make an impact. In the early 1990’s an input of Japanese funding led to the team being renamed Footwork. Despite a link up with Porsche to supply engines, success was not forthcoming and in 1996, the team retuned to being Arrows and Tom Walkinshaw took over the team. Despite Walkinshaw's success in several other forms of motor sport, he was not able to repeat this in F1.
