Indianapolis Motor Speedway, USA circuit details
F1 has had on on/off relationship with the USA over the years, with races at various tracks being included in the season at different times. F1 returned Indianapolis in 2000, this time using a track that comprised part of the famous Brickyard oval and a newly constructed infield, more typical of the European F1 circuits. Whilst the race has attracted reasonable crowds, the actual racing has been disappointing. The 2005 race was a farce when only 6 cars started the race, as the other teams pulled out on safety grounds (tyre problems). The race did return to the USA in 2006, and put on a better race.
