The achievement of 7 world championship drivers titles between 1994 and 2004, including 5 in consecutive years for Ferrari between 2000 and 2004, puts Michael Schumacher as one of the most successful driver in F1 history and the best driver of his era. In 308 starts he won 91 races equating to winning 30% of race starts. He won his first to championship titles with Benetton (1994 and 1995) and then his next 5 with Ferrari between 2000 and 2004. He retired at the end of the 2006 season. After a three year break, he returned to F1 in 2010, to be reunited at Mercedes with Ross Brawn, though his return to F1 did not bring the same success as he had previously. His 300th Grand Prix start was in Belgium in 2012. In 22 races he won having started on pole and had the fastest lap.
