Force India team history

Force India was formed out of the old Spyker team and ran until 2018 when team owner Vijay Mallya ran into financial problems and the team was bought by Lawrence Stroll to become Racing Point. During the time the team competed it had a best result of one 2nd place and one pole position.

Part way through the 2018 season the team went into receivership and the assets bought out by a consortium run by business man Lawrence stroll and became Racing Point Force India and it was under this name that the team finished the season. As they did not complete the season the team could not keep the points but the drivers could.
