Team Lotus team history
Founded by the late Colin Chapman and noted for its innovate designs. The team had success in the 1960’s and early 1970’s with 3 Constructors title in the 1960's and 4 in the 1970's. Despite some design innovations after this, there was limited success and after Colin Chapman’s death the team declined. The Lotus company was bought by the Malaysian Proton company and the F1 team has been reborn for the 2010 season as joint venture with the Malaysian government.
