In 1967 Brabham took their second consecutive constructors championship with the Repco engine and Denny Hulme taking the drivers championship ahead of team mate Jack Brabham. The race at Zandvoort marked the arrival of the Ford Cosworth DFV engine which Jim Clark won in a Lotus 49 with this engine. This British built V8 engine became the most successful engine for 15 seasons. The Lotus 49 was quick but not very relaible this season giving Jim Clark third in the Dirvers Championship and Lotus second in the Constructors Championship.
