The 2009 race race was won by Lewis Hamilton in his McLaren from pole position.
The race was won by Fernando Alonso for Renault after Nelson Piquet Jr crashed. However during 2009 it was admitted that Nelson Piquet Jr crashed deliberately to allow Alonso to win.
