The Canadian GP has been run in Montreal since 1978. Part street circuit and part race track, it is built around a lake on an island in the St Lawrence Seaway. A mixture of tight corners and fast straights. Has produced some good races, but can be hard on cars.
McLaren scored a first and second place in the 2010 race with Lewis Hamilton winning from Jenson Button in an exciting race in which tyre wear palyed a significant part.
The 2008 Canadian GP was notable for the first win for BMW and for Kubica and a bizarre pit lane accident when Hamilton ran into Raikkonen who had stopped at a red light at the end of the pit lane.
